MEC Makamu welcomes statutory body members during inauguration ceremony

The 25 of September 2025 marked an auspicious day as MEC for CoGHSTA, Mr. Basikopo Makamu officially met with newly appointed members of the Rental Housing Tribunal and Housing Advisory Panel. Taking place at the CoGHSTA head office, MEC Makamu conveyed his message of support to members of the two statutory bodies who will be serving for a term of three years. "I am confident that as you assume your positions in this 7 th administration of provincial government , you will use your expertise to fully market the services of both statutory bodies, resolve cases professionally and harmonize the relationship that exists between the department and our clients ," said the CoGHSTA MEC.

In response to the message conveyed by MEC Makamu, the Chairperson of the Housing Advisory Panel Lediga Makhudu pledged that in their tenure as board members, they will ensure that they advise the department in alignment with policies and conduct thorough research to ensure that housing is provided according to the needs of beneficiaries.
