In an effort to honour the legacy of Nelson Mandela, the MEC for CoGHSTA , Mr. Basikopo Makamu visited Ga Mahoai Village under the Matlala A Thaba Traditional Authority to handover a fully furnished house to military veteran Mr. Hendrick Phelego on 25 July 2025. The Phelego family home which comprises of three bedrooms, a kitchen, utility room, living room and an external toilet was constructed by Mona Holdings.
In his keynote address, MEC Makamu said he hoped that the 60 square meter house will give 57 year old Phelego a sense of peace. Mr. Phelego took part in the struggle for freedom fighting the injustices of the apartheid regime.
